Water Treatment
Fontana Water Company’s goal is to provide the highest quality of water for its customers. In order to meet this goal, Fontana Water Company owns and operates three water treatment facilities, treating a combination of well and surface water.
Plant F10 – 5,000 GPM Liquid Phase Granular Carbon facility for the removal of Volatile Organic Compounds.
Plant F17 – 6000 gallon per minute Ion-Exchange facility for the removal of perchlorate.
Plant F21 – 2500 gallon per minute Ion-Exchange facility for the removal of perchlorate.
Plant F23 – 2500 gallon per minute Ion-Exchange facility for the removal of perchlorate
Sandhill Water Treatment Plant – A 29 million-gallon-per-day (MGD) treatment plant that is comprised of a 12 MGD Conventional filtration treatment facility and 17 MGD Diatomaceous Earth filtration treatment facility. The source water for this treatment plant is local Lytle Creek surface water and State Water Project supplies from Northern California.
Fontana Water Company plans to install additional treatment systems similar to the system at Plant F17 in order to utilize wells currently not in use.
